Kyle was born and raised in Northwestern New Jersey. Kyle first starting playing the trumpet in his middle school band. Kyle's father, Robert Carmean, would tell his son of his band days playing bass and guitar all around the area when he was growing up. This finally brought Kyle's interest to the guitar. Kyle's father bought him his first guitar for Christmas and Kyle never put it down. Kyle studied more music in high school and would travel to hear musicians in New York City and tried to perform anywhere he could. Kyle then took his passion for music to the land of higher education and studied music performance and is a graduate of SUNY Purchase College.

After receiving his Bachelor's Degree in Music, Kyle moved to and currently lives in Westchester, NY. His primary instrument is guitar. Kyle plays Phifer Designs custom guitars and is close friends with its founder Woody Phifer. Kyle is a guest lecturer at Rutgers University. Kyle enjoyed a short time in the rhythm section of Reeds Rhythm and All That Brass Big Band, located in central New Jersey, playing all of the great classics of American Classical music from Glen Miller, Benny Goodman, Count Basie and Duke Ellington to name a few. Kyle has been performing Jazz, Latin, Blues, Rock music at an extensive array of A-list venues in New York City. Clubs such as Sweet Rhythm, 55 Bar, Swing 46, C-Note, and CBGB's just to name a few. Kyle has toured across the United States performing. The entire coast of California, North Texas Jazz Festival, Amersterdam celebration on Governers Island to name a few. Kyle has performed five times at Carnegie hall, with Melinda Doolittle of American Idol and with six time grammy award winner Larnelle Harris and multi-platinum artist Michael W. Smith. He has been performing in the tri-state area for the past 25 years and even up to parts New England and to the mid-west for event such as The North Texas Jazz Festival and has performed up and down the California coast from legendary Spazio's in Sherman Oaks, San Francisco's Fisherman's Wharf, Bubble Lounge Restaurant and Champagne Bar, Brainwash, Union Square; to Big Sur's Fernwood Resort, to El Capitan Canyon Resort in Santa Barbara, to the famous Catalina Jazz Club in Los Angeles. In the summer of 2011 his group performed original material at "A Bear's Picnic" in Laurelton PA sharing the stage with "New Riders of the Purple Sage" "Natural Breakdown" and "Juggling Suns" to name a few. Kyle tours twice a year throughout Germany and Belgium performing his original music.

Kyle has recently performed in the musical "The Man of LaMancha" and "Sweet Charity". Kyle recently completed his debut album of all original music the he composed, arranged and produced. Kyle has his first book published by Cherry Lane Music in Manhattan, NY entitled "Cool Open String Licks". He has played with musicians such as Bill Watrous, Gil Parris, John Abercrombie, Charles Blenzig, Jim Rotundi, Randy Johnston, Jose Madero from the Tito Puente Orchestra, Rich Morales from Spyro Gyra, Barry Danellian from Tower of Power. Kyle has taught music theory, guitar master classes, ensemble coaching, and writes arrangements of songs for Lagond Music in Elmsford since 2002, New York, R&R music, and Rutgers University. He also teaches private lessons in the Greenwich, Conn. and Westchester, NY and works with children at Songs for Seeds Greenwich CT.
